Healthy Choc Oat Pancakes

these delicious pancakes are filling and totally feel as though your eating dessert for breakfast! My kids love these and unlike regular sugary pancakes where they ask for more and more. They are full after 2 or 3 mini Pikelets  sized ones!

what you will need:

Foodprocessor , 2 bowls, frying pan

I blend my own oats – but you could buy quick oats. This is why I used the foodprocessor. It makes the oats more floury, really fine. Where as quick oast from a packet are course and not so fine.

Ingredients:

3eggs

1 1/2 cup milk

1 1/2 cup oats (blended in foodprocessor)

4 tablespoons cacao

Small amount of Butter for frying pan

Method:

In a separate bowl place your egg whites and in the opposite add your yolks. In your bowl of yolks add the oats, milk, and cacao. Mix well!

Whisk your egg whites in the other bowl until stiff.

Slowly fold your egg whites into the bowl of oat batter.

Heat your frying pan, and grease your pan with a nob of butter.

Place a small amount into frying pan. Waiting for little bubbles to appear on the surface. When you have roughly a dozen bubbles on the surface, flip your pancake. Cook the other side for approx 1min .

Now you should have a pancake stack

You can top these with what ever you like.

But above I have topped mine with whipped cream, chopped fresh strawberries, dark chocolate drops, toasted hazel nuts and some maple syrup.

Bon appetit

It certainly isnt all about the coffee and cake from this place, but the home made AMAZING pies! and the fresh pressed juice. There is always, i mean ALWAYS something NEW to try. which keeps it interesting, and makes us go back for more and more.

Be aware – not to be disappointed, that they do close earlier than most cafe’s. week days they are open until 4pm and on weekends only open until 2pm.

Chocolate, more chocolate & pink sweet treats… can’t go wrong!

If you haven’t discovered heaven on a plate yet, your not going to the right places!

This is Steven Ter Horst Chocolatier on Rundle Street in Adelaide City

with beautiful interior design, that’s been kept simple with slick black lines and black boards. The wooden table tops, polished cement floors and black industrial stools make this cafe/chocolate shop stand out from all the rest on rundle street.

Everything is perfect, including the blocks of delicious chocolate. My favourite – dark chocolate with sour cherry and pistachios. totally Yumalicious!

Chocolate Taperia – North Adelaide

Chocolate Taperia is an awesome place to take a friend or date night. Its also great for those people you know who dont like to go out for anything other than a schnitty and chips for a meal – so instead you take them out for JUST dessert. I’ve been known to take holidaying friends here and they love it! the best place they usually visit the whole time they are in adelaide. I guess after all the regular coffee shops, and cafes, and bars, restaurants and pubs people like to find that something thats a little different.

We even visited here for mothers day earlier this year. it was AMAZEBALLS! and the chef certainly well over catered the glass slabs it was all served on.

Here is a view on the MOTHERS DAY dessert spread – this was for a table of 5 adults and 3 kids

it was just divine and it was an intimate setting that had to be prebooked/paid for. So we would highly recommend taking interstate/overseas guests here and also place a booking for the next special occasion they have! it will be well worth every dollar, not to mention less hassle and stress when planning a birthday, xmas gathering or even mothers/fathers day. It is just brilliantly executed and such playfulness of food makes for a great talking point when being served these amazing dishes.

for now, i will leave you with a recent picture of the “movie night” dessert. its a mixture of flavours, and types of dessert from caramel pop corn, little sorbet/icecream, macaroon, strawberry thick shake and of course some delicious churros with cinnamon sugar.

Eggless Dessert Bar

When someone can say “new menu every month” and live up to those words, you know your onto a good thing.

although sometimes they do re-live and re-create popular old desserts, this is one husband and wife that work hard to achieve the best of the best and not only in the food sense but also in the customer service side of things also.

We will touch more on Eggless through out the blog – as we visit every month and sometimes weekly if given the chance

If you have NEVER been. Seriously, do your self a favour and take your friends or family on an intimate yet playful dining experience and try a tasting plate to indulge your taste buds. Enjoy every BITE xx

The Locavore – Stirling

On a beautiful day where the sun is shining, the tunes are playing in the back ground, the cafe is packed you know your in for something TOPS.
The menu looked appertising and the food coming out looked very good value for money. However when you’ve already eaten lunch you succumb to dessert with a coffee!

And a delicious looking dessert it was!
The serving size was very reasonable, enough to say it was on the larger side. However it was missing something, it was missing a crunch, a crumble, a BASE. It desperately needed another texture to the plate. Hands down faultless in flavour with what was presented. A nice rich creamy fluffy cheese, with yumtastic apricots.

The kids enjoyed a VERY CHOCOLATE iced chocolate, that was delish!
Our coffee was strong, but was very much needed this way after dragging 3 children through the stirling market!

We will go back, for the food looked fantastic and everything had a reasonable price tag for a couple.
